Destiny! God's Plan For You

DESTINY!!!!!!

It's been awhile since I've updated my blog site.  Much has changed in my life! At the end of year 2011, two Sister-in-Laws transitioned to heaven then followed by my mother and sister in the same week at the beginning of 2012. On March 26th, 2012,  I celebrated my Jubilee (50th) Birthday! Needless to say, I have become more aware of God's destiny in and for my life. I am living and walking in God's destine plan and purposes for my life. Consider this Scripture!

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

“Destiny has a peculiar way of ordering a man’s steps!”.... General John D. MacArthur

Destiny is: (three part definition from to the scriptures)

1)A divine determined course,  a  journey, a going, a rendered way, a race, a plan; 2)not initiated by man’s plans, idea, or ideals, but communicated by God to man, 3)that required choice, obedience, and cooperation with God by faith in a/the larger overall plan and will of God.

Consider the following Scriptures:

Hebrews 12:1 KJV
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Proverbs 16:9 KJV
9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Proverbs 16:25 KJV

25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Ephesians 1:11 KJV
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Philippians 1:6 KJV
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Consider the following Bible examples:

Man's course or race in the Will of God's plans!

a.      Abraham agreed with Sarah’s plan and produced an Ishmael; (Surely a man’s idea gone bad!) but God gave him an Isaac.
b.     Moses as a Prince of Egypt killed an Egyptian hoping that the children of Israel would see how he might deliver them.  (Surely a man’s idea gone bad!); but God gave him a burning bush experience.

c.    Joseph, the dreamer was put in a pit and sold into slavery by his family (surely a bad idea!); but God gave him a Palace and a saved Nation.

d.   Saul, being self righteous, persecuted Jesus (the Christians, His Body) (surely a bad idea), but God gave him a Damascus road experience, a new Name, (Paul) and the revelation of the Gospel of Grace which we now preach.

Man's obedience and cooperation in the Will of God!

Luke 22:42; Acts 13:22; 1 Cor 9:17- that required choice, obedience, and cooperation with God by faith in a/the larger overall plan or will of God.

a.       Abraham chose to obey and cooperated with God when he left his Father’s house and sojourned to the Land which the LORD would show him.  Abraham believed God, against hope that he would be a Father of many nations as it was spoken.   Thus righteousness was imputed unto him, thus he become the Father of the Faith giving us (Gentiles) which are of faith who believe on Jesus Christ; the same rights and privilege to the covenant as the children of Abraham which fulfilled the overall plan and will of God ; “In thee shall all nations be blessed”

b.     Moses had to choose to obey and cooperate with God.  Moses inferiority complex arose during his burning bush experience that he asked, “Who am I that I should go and tell Pharaoh anything?  I am not a man of eloquent in speech. God said that’s okay, I can use it! Take your stutter, your stick and your trustee friend Aaron and tell Pharaoh that “I AM" that "I Am” sent you.  I will deliver my people and you will lead them out! Because he chose to obey and cooperate with God, he was the world’s first Legislator giving humanity the moral laws of God.  Thus fulfilling the overall plan and will of God to bring humanity into the knowledge of sin; and setting the stage for humanities redemption through the promised Savior.
c.      Joseph, the dreamer chose to obey and cooperate with God when he gave food and refuge to his father and brethren during the worse famine ever known to the history of man at that time.  He could have had them executed (being the high ranking official that he was) for what they did to him, but he extended compassion and great favor upon them thus bringing to past the dreams that provoked the jealousy that set his life on a course that lead him to greatness.  Thus fulfilling the greater overall plan to preserve the lineage (Judah-progenitor) through whom the Savior for the World would come.  God knows our tomorrows today!
d.     Saul chose to obey and cooperate with God to continue on his journey to Damascus after his Damascus road experience and received further instruction from Ananias; who came and laid his hands upon him.  He received further instruction as what was to befall him for the sake of the Gospel.  His divine Apostleship gave revelation to the Dispensation of Grace, in which we now live by faith and understanding of the New Covenant that was ratified by the shed blood of Jesus Christ the righteous one, thus fulfilling the larger overall plan for God to bring the Gentiles into the sheep fold.

Your destiny was established in the Mind of God before you were conceived in your mother's womb.  God always has you on His Mind and He want you to know what He thinks about you.  Get in His presence and He will show you the deep and secret things about you (not anyone else) and your destine course in His Will.  Once He reveals them, be obedient and cooperate with God in it.  You will be bless far above what you can ask or think...

You may look at your life and see the Ishmael's, the Buried Egyptians, the Pit, and the Blindness as the results of doing "life" without God.
  •       Ishmael's - represents the fruit of living according to the flesh.
  •       A Buried Egyptians - represents the hidden secrets that keep you wondering in your dessert.
  •       The Pit - represents the things that you have allowed in you life and you now need help to get out.
  •            Blindness- represents the state of deception and hardness of heart because of the rejection of the Word of God.

Know that God's LOVE is ever ready to RESCUE! He is faithful and He has provided GRACE that is greater than all sin through His Son, Jesus Christ!

He will give you:
  • An Isaac (the Promised Seed) for your Ishmael.
  • A Burning Bush Experience (Life Transformation) for your Burried Egptians.
  • A Palace and Nation (Place of Authority, Honor and Favor) for your Pit.
  • Revelation in His Grace for your Blindness.

Walk with God in your life and fulfill your destiny!!!!

Your Confession Is Your Possession!

Your Confession Is Your Possession!

Mark 11:23 KJV

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Romans 10:10 KJV

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

These Scriptures show us that our confession is directly related to our possession.  God’s Covenant Word is released and made active in our lives by the words we confess.  In order to possess the promises of God, we must understand that words are powerful and when released we possess what we confess!

Embrace these five principles and you will change your life.

I.  Your Confession/Words are alive. They manifest fruit.

Proverbs 18:21 KJV

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Proverbs 4:20-22

20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
KJV

Example: Mark 5:25-34 (Woman with the Issue of Blood) This woman heard something, said something and did something!

II. Confession/Words frame our world. They have creative Power.

 Hebrews 11:3

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
KJV

Example:  Genesis Chapters 1-3 (And God said…) God's creative power displayed in God speaking words!

III.  Confession/Words are essential in maintaining fellowship with God.

1 John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
KJV

James 5:16

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
KJV

Psalms 66:18 KJV

18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Example: II Samuel 11: 1-27; 12:1-14

(David’s Sin Confession of his sin with Bathsheba)

                 (I Samuel 15:1-35 (Saul’s Sin of Disobedience)

IV. Confession/Words reveal the dictates of the heart

 Matthew 12:34 KJV

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Luke 6:43-45 KJV

43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Proverbs 23:7 KJV

7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Example: Numbers 13:1-4; 17-20; 23-33
(Twelves Spies sent to Canaan to spy; 10 gave an evil report because of the way they saw themselves)

 V. Your confession /Words frame your future that brings you into your divine destiny.

Ruth 1:1-22; 4:13-17 (Ruth’s Confession brought her into her divine destiny)

II Kings 4:8:37 (The Son of the Shunammite Woman was raised from the dead; by her confession she received her son back)

II Kings 2:1-18 (Elisha’s saw Elijah taken in the chariot and received the mantel of the double portion; His words brought him into his divine destiny)

Luke 1:26 – 37 (Mary’s Word shaped her destiny and brought the Savior into the World)

Luke 1: 5-23; 57-66 (Zachariah was silenced because he believed not the Angel’s message.  His Words would have shaped a different destiny for John the Baptist but God divinely intervened)

What are you saying out of your mouth?  Consider your ways and change your words.  Remember where you are today is a direct result of your own word and thinking.  Change your words and you can change your thinking which will change your world.

Selah!

Let us pray!

Father in Jesus Name, help me keep my words and my tongue from speaking doubt and unbelief.  I pray that the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalms 19:14 KJV

GRACE, Your License to SERVE; Not to SIN

GRACE, Your License to SERVE; Not to SIN

In Matt 24:3-4, Jesus sat upon the Mount of Olives, and the disciples came unto him privately saying, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” And Jesus answered and said unto them, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Jesus plainly stated that in the end times, deception would be the order of the day. This is ever true in our culture and even in the Church.

One of Satan’s main devices against the Church is deception, or “truth out of balanced”. Satan can’t get true Believers to believe a down right brazen lie, but he does a good job in getting Believers in the ditch on one side or the other, keeping Believers out of balance with Scripture. This is an old trick that he tried on Jesus, the Righteous One. Consider Satan’s deceptive attempt with Jesus and how he used Scripture out of balance. In Luke 4:9-12, Satan brought Jesus to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, “If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence for it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.” This was a deceptive move but Jesus answered him according to the Scriptures. Jesus said, “It is written that thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” Jesus knew the truth and would not have thrown himself down (committed suicide) to prove His Son-ship or spirituality. He was balanced and rightfully divided the Word of Truth, thus Satan was not able to get the best of Him. Timothy encourages the Believer to rightfully divide the Word of Truth.

As a Pastor I am amazed at the many excuses Believers use to continue to willfully sin while stating that God’s Grace will abound and is sufficient. Many believers have taken the Grace of God to use it as a license to sin against Him, rather than a license to serve Him. Come on Church, let’s get this right! Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbids!

• Sin is rebellion against God!

• Sin is to know to do well (good) and do it not!

• Sin is missing the mark!

• Sin is all unrighteousness!

• Sin is transgression against the law!

And many more scriptures define SIN for us. You search them out!

So where does deception or “truth out of balance” come in? When the Believer finds and uses Scripture to make provisions for their flesh and to justify sin rather than repent of it. The Word of God is a balanced scale of TRUTH; it always makes one free and can be trusted. Just to name a few truths that Christians use out of balance…

The Bible says... “All have sinned.”

The Bible says…“You who are without sin, cast the first stone.”

The Bible says...“Don’t judge.”

The Bible says...“Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.”

The Bible says…“Love covers a multitude of sin.”

I need not go on; you get the point.

Yes, there are many scriptures that deal with sin, but none are given to justify it. God’s perfect work of grace in our lives is applied when we repent, and confess our sin. Scriptures on “SIN” and “JUDGMENT” are the most commonly misused truths taken out of balanced from the Bible than any other scriptures by far; “GRACE” scriptures are second. They are use most of the times to escape the evaluation or potential penalties of another when asked to give an account for ungodly behavior and actions. If we would keep in line with the Word of God then we can get a Godly answer and a response that will lead to right standing with God every time. Consider these two Kings, David whom God sent Nathan the Prophet and Saul whom God sent Samuel the Prophet. In today’s climate these men behaviors would be considered “no ones business and that is between them and God” and be dismissed as “mere faults” that every man has, however God does not see it that way. He sent the prophets who judged (evaluated) the Kings and their works. The Prophets did what God had instructed them to do calling their deeds wrong and administered God’s punishment. Although David repented, his son still died (consequence); yet he (David) remained in God’s favor and became one of Israel’s greatest Kings and was called a man after God’s own heart. Saul, on the other hand, did not receive the Word of the Lord from the Prophet neither did he repent nor turn from his own way and perished at war by the sword (consequence).

What are the phases you use when you are confronted with your sin?

Do you use the scripture to excuse your sin or do you confess it, turn from it and ask God for His Grace to stand that you may serve Him. This is the Biblical order for the Believer.

Paul, by the Holy Spirit, lays out the order for the Church to operate in Church Discipline. Although this is not a popular teaching, nonetheless it is in the Word of God and must be obeyed. In 1 Corinthians 5:1-13, he encourages the Church to judge those among us who practice sin and not to keep company with those who do. Religious people see this as being harsh, and that God could not have meant what Paul wrote. They fail to understand that all Church Discipline is designed to be RESTORATIVE AND NOT PUNITIVE. The love of the Father is to keep us in fellowship with Him and sin still separates us from Him and He does not want us flirting with it in anyway. This is why He sent His Son, so that sin would not have dominion over us.

Come on Soldiers of the Cross, let’s gird up our loins with truth and apply it correctly. Let’s not make excuses for sin in our lives or be afraid to call it out in the lives of other Believers. Make yourself accountable first to God, His Word, a local fellowship of Believers (Church), and to a Pastor just to name of few. Jesus is soon to return and we who have this hope purify ourselves as He is pure…SELAH!

Prayer:

Father, in the Name of Jesus,

Thank you for your Grace that you so amply supply that I may serve you wholly. Without your grace, I am nothing and can do nothing. I know your provision through your Son frees me from the power of sin when I trust and obey your Word. Lord, I trust you to forgive me and cleanse me of all unrighteousness when I confess my sin. I will not make excuses for my sin but I will run to you for your grace that I may serve you. I will not use grace as a license to sin but as a witness of your love for me causing me to want to serve you with my heart. Thank you Father for your love for me and your amazing GRACE!

You Still Have To Show Up!

You Still Have To Show Up!

“Position Yourselves…Go Out To Face Them”
And Praise God!

2 Chronicles 20:14-17
14 Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly.
15 He said, Hearken, all Judah, you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you: Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
16 Tomorrow go down to them. Behold, they will come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the ravine before the Wilderness of Jeruel.
17 You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.
AMP

What a powerful way our God comes to our aid when trouble is on every side. God did it for Israel and He will do it for you. Oh you know the story! King Jehoshaphat was surrounded by enemies of three armies, Ammon, Moab, Mount Seri. Jehoshaphat was afraid (remember that courage is not the absence of fear), but he understood where the real power resided. So he turned his attention to seek the Lord, proclaimed a fast throughout the land and sought a plan from the LORD!
Simply put, HE PRAYED!

Prayer is the key that unlocks the strategies of God. Are you facing a battle in your family, in your marriage, in your health, in your finances, with addiction, or some other seemingly impossible struggles? Pray!!!!! The answer came for Jehoshaphat in the mist of the prayer meeting. The Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel and he ministered to Jehoshaphat the Word of the Lord not to be afraid because “the battle is not yours but God’s.” Believers often quote this passage of Scripture and find temporary comfort for the moment; but this is not the entire story. Jahaziel revealed the entire strategy of God that defeated his enemies. Often time Believers miss out on victory over their enemy by not getting and carrying out the whole plan of God. When you pray, do you ask God for deliverance from the problem or do you pray and seek God’s plan on how to defeat your enemy? There is a significant difference. The object of warfare is to put down the enemy completely; no reviving; total destruction of every yoke of the enemy. Jehoshaphat had a Word from the LORD!

You Still Have To Show Up!

Although Jehoshaphat had a Word, he still had to show up for the battle! The instruction from the Lord was for Jehoshaphat and the army of Israel to:
1. Go Down To Them
2. They Will Come Up
3. You Shall Not Need To Fight
4. Take Your Position
5. Stand Still
6. Go Out Against Them

They had to suit up and go to the battleground as if it all depended on them. Sometimes this is the last place Believers want to be, where the battle is going to happen. We would rather someone else be there then ourselves. It is frightening at the lineup on the battlegrounds. But God said do not be afraid! Don’t be dismayed; this battle is not yours but God’s. They could expect their enemies to be there for the face off. What am I saying to you? On the battlegrounds, the enemy is there, you still have to show up with a full assurance of faith in what God has said and stand your ground. They did not need to fight for God’s Word had gone before them that the battle was His. But they still had to show up on the battleground. They had to take their position. They had to stand still in order to see the deliverance of the Lord. They got their marching orders to go out against their enemies.

Praise God!

Jehoshaphat did as the Lord had instructed and showed up on the battlegrounds with his army, but he appointed those who sing and praise God to go before the army saying, “Give thanks to the LORD, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.” When they began to sing praises, the Lord set ambushes against the enemies of Israel that they turned on themselves and destroyed each other.
Praise was God’s weapon of choice to defeat the enemies of Jehoshaphat and the army of Israel. The display of God’s glory in praise caused utter destruction to their enemies and their schemes. I’m sure in the mind of Jehoshaphat that sending singers and praises into the battle made no sense to his natural mind, but he knew the source of the power supply and was obedient to the heavenly instruction. How many more victories we would win if we pray, receive God’s plan, show up on the battleground by faith and praise God?

Selah!

The Real Health Care Bill

Proverbs 4:20-22 is the best health care plan and the bill is paid in full!
Prov 4:20-22
20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. KJV

God's National Health Care Bill

The Nation is in an uproar over the HC Bill - H.R. 3200 and rightfully so. Everyone has a voice and so does our heavenly Father who has spoken to us through his Word. You've read it in Proverbs. This was written by Solomon who recieved wisdom from the Lord to lead God's people. Since we believe that God's Word is turth without error, then we must believe that He knows something about Heath Care. After all He sent His Word (Jesus) to heal us and to deliver us from destruction (Ps 107:20). So what is the instruction of the Lord and what should we be doing? I'm glad you asked!

  • "Attend to God's Word"... Yes! Know the healing scriptures, but something even more pratical than that is to think and behave biblically regarding life, freedom and health. Life is sacred and Holy, even as God the creator and giver of life is Holy, creating man in His image and likeness. The Believer is called to do what God would do in every instance to sustain and give life. Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit; we must glorify God in it. Eating right, exercise, proper rest, forgiveness, laughter, wholesome family time, singing and spiritual worship of the Lord Jesus are the basics.

  • "Let them not depart... keep them in the mist"... In our human weakness, God knew that we would have a tendancy to stray from His Word so He tells us what to do. Let them not depart and keep them in the mist! Believers are not to stray from God's Word concerning life, freedom and health. We must strive to keep ourselves in the Word of God thus it will produce the right thinking and the right behaving.

  • "They are life... they are health"...God's health care plan is His Word in action. If we do what He has instructed we will have life, freedom and health, all on God's tab of blessings.

Believers of the Body of Christ have abdicated their responsibility by not attending to God's Word and by being silent when it was time to speak in righteousness. This is the primary reason why Believers are found on both sides of the arguement. Jesus instructed us to be the salt and light of the world. We wonder why we have such ideas like "counseloring for end of life care" truthfully known as euthanasia. Words like "reproductive choice for woman", truthfully known as abortion on demand. All paid for by the taxpayers (including Believers) and administered by Drs. who will be paid by the taxpayers. I encourage you to read I Timothy 6:10 because in this world of greed and covetness even believers can and will error from the faith for the love of money rather than what is right before a Holy God whom all will meet in judgement. Wake up Believers and don't be ignorant of Satan's devices. Believers are to submit to God and resist the works of darkness in every way.

I believe the Health Care system needs a reformation, but the proposed plan is not a plan for life, but rather death. God has the answer and wisdom says we ought to ask Him for the right solution. God's way will always lead man to life, choice, freedom and health (Deut. 30:19-20).

What do Christians believe?

What do Christians believe? To my surprise when I ask this question, many believers do not have an answer or they simply say, "Christians believe in Jesus". I can't say that's wrong, but then the question becomes, "What "about" Jesus do you believe that make you Christian?" Wow! What a great question!
There are things about the Christian faith that are debated, argued, challenged, or whatever word you use to prove your point on a matter but the ultimate fact should lead to truth as revealed in the scriptures. Your opinion, my opinion or any one's opinion should not matter when it come to the Holy Scriptures which is the final authority. Every believer should know the basic tenants of the Christian Faith and be able to give an answer for the hope that is within them. These are the non-negotiable from Scripture that defines the true Believer.
  • The Bible is the inspired, infallible, Word of God.
  • The Godhead - Tri-unity of the Godhead, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. There is One God. In the nature of the One God is revealed three distinct Persons as seen in Scripture.
  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Word Incarnate, Born of a virgin; died on the Cross and was buried, rose from the grave bodily on the third day, was seen of men, ascended up into heaven and will return bodily.
  • Man His Fall and Redemption- Man is created by God, In His image and likeness; through Adam's transgression, sin came upon all men and all men were separated from God. Jesus was manifested to destroy the power of Sin and Satan and to bring Man back to his rightful place with God by shedding his blood and giving his life on the Cross. Salvation is a gift of God, separate from works and the law; made operative only by grace through faith, confident assurance in Jesus Christ which produces works acceptable to God.
  • Return of the Lord and the Resurrection of the Just - The Angel said to the Disciples that Jesus would come again the same way they saw Him go. Acts 1:11. The Scripture further says that when He comes, the dead in Christ will rise first and we who are alive and remain will be caught up to meet Him... I Thess 4:16-17.
  • Final Retribution for Sin and Hell - The one who physically dies without trusting in the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross is hopelessly and eternally separated from God and there is no further opportunity for repentance. Thus that person is lost to the eternal Lake of Fire and sin is punished.

These are the essential of the Christian faith. The foundation upon which every believer must embrace to be a powerful Christian that the gates of hell can not prevail against. Do you believe these things? Are you a true Christian believer?
